ABOUT HYPMIC: Hypnosis Microphone takes place in a post-WW3 world, where physical violence has been banned and conflicts are decided through the use of so-called hypnosis microphone. These devices transform the user's voice to inflict debilitating effects on their opponent's nervous system. Official battles for territory across Japan are carried out at the D.R.B. (Division Rap Battle), where representative groups fight each other in a designated arena in the central district of Chuuou-ku.
Calendar H Japan is marked by this era of non-physical battle and the government that enforced these laws now 3 years prior, under Otome Tohoten.
Sasara is a TV-famous solo comedian, based in Osaka. One half of the former comedy duo Dotsuitare Honpo, alongside Rosho Tsutsujimori, he moved to Ikebukuro after the dissolution of the group where he and Samatoki Aohitsugi formed the group Mad Comic Dialogue, fighting with hypnosis mics, in the early days of H.
After MCD splits up on less than amicable terms, Sasara returns to Osaka and continues to work as an entertainer. He eventually receives a summon to the 2nd D.R.B. and forms the Osaka-representative group (also called) Dotsuitare Honpo, a three man team consisting of himself, his former comedy partner and the suspicious old man, Rei Amayado.

CRAU: Coming from Prismatica, Sasara and Rosho (glossophobia ) have admitted to their feelings for each other, that had continued to linger even after the separation of their comedy duo years prior, and entered a romantic relationship.
FAMILIAR: Bakeneko. Sasara's familiar can speak in human language—at that still very much mimicking the speech patterns of its master—but does not yet possess any skills to shape-shift. While appearing as, mostly, a normal cat, characters aligned with Animal magic may be able to talk with it, but so might others when it uses human speech.

I don’t suppose I ever was the type for looking up to firemen and athletes and such. Seeing all those comedians and entertainers on TV, it’s that, really. Or I wouldn’t be who I am at all, if I didn’t manage to so much as laugh, and that’s all because of people like that.
Q3: What does family mean to you and who do you consider a part of your family?
It’s like that, growing up, your family stops being all about Ma and Pa, and you find other people who wind up becoming important to you. With those people you care about, you make your own family, you share your life. My partner’s someone like that to me.
Q4: Tell me about a time you were involved in a personal conflict (not a physical fight). What would you do differently to resolve it?
